Let’s Elevate Your Leadership Journey
Join other school leaders who are transforming their practice with ElevateEd.
Most people assume that a great teacher naturally becomes a great school leader. After all, strong communication, empathy, and instructional know-how are all part of the equation, right?
But here's the uncomfortable truth: the skills that make someone successful in the classroom often aren’t the same ones that drive success in leadership. In fact, they can sometimes get in the way.
At ElevatED Leadership Coaching, our focus is on educators who were promoted because of their classroom excellence—only to find themselves overwhelmed, unsure, and under-supported in training in their new roles. Why? Because leadership requires an entirely different toolkit: strategic vision, difficult conversations, decision-making in ambiguity, and the ability to coach adults instead of instructing kids.
Here’s the reframe:
Moving from teaching to leadership isn’t a promotion—it’s a professional transformation. And it’s one that most independent schools don’t adequately prepare people for.
That’s where we come in. We challenge the assumption that leadership is an extension of teaching. Through targeted coaching, we help leaders build the mindset, behaviors, and influence skills they actually need to lead effectively—and feel confident doing it.
At ElevatED Leadership Coaching, we support independent school leaders at every stage of their leadership journey. Our clients come to us with a wide range of needs — strategic, developmental, and deeply personal — and we meet them where they are with the clarity, partnership, and challenge they need to grow.
You’re leading a major initiative — a strategic plan, new program implementation, schedule redesign, or capital campaign — and you can’t afford to get it wrong. We serve as a thought partner to help you avoid blind spots, pressure-test decisions, and stay focused on what matters. With ElevatED by your side, you get a second set of seasoned eyes to ensure your leadership is confident, credible, and aligned with your vision.
You’re stepping into a new role, taking on broader responsibility, or simply trying to find your rhythm in a complex leadership environment. Our coaching helps you hit the ground running, earn trust, deliver early wins, and build strong relationships. Whether you’re a new Head, Division Director, or Dean, we’ll help you accelerate your effectiveness while staying grounded in your values.
You’re experienced, but you’re not content to coast. You’re ready to sharpen your strategic thinking, expand your influence beyond your silo, or drive deeper cultural change across your school. Our coaching challenges experienced leaders to raise their game — not just to lead well, but to lead transformationally.
You’re leading at a high level and want to stay at the top of your game. We help you stay connected to emerging leadership, organizational, and education trends — and translate them into practice within the independent school context. Think of us as your confidential, go-to resource for staying sharp, steady, and well-informed.
At ElevateEd, we empower school leaders—those new to their roles or seeking greater professional growth—with personalized coaching and leadership development. Our mission is to bridge the gap in professional support for these pivotal leaders, offering high-impact services at a cost that aligns with schools’ professional development budgets. Together, we help schools thrive by fostering confidence, capability, and inspired leadership.
After more than 30 years in independent schools — serving as a science teacher, lower and middle school director, enrollment management director, athletic director, development director and associate head of school — I’ve seen firsthand the impact that strong, supported leadership can have on a school community. And through it all, the work that has always fulfilled me the most has been developing other leaders — helping them grow, lead with clarity, and succeed on their own terms. That’s true whether they were emerging from within the faculty or coming in from other schools. Watching them step into their potential and thrive has been the most meaningful part of my own leadership journey.
That’s why I launched ElevatED Leadership Coaching.
Independent school leaders often carry enormous responsibility with little dedicated support. The support that I have received from others and the support that I provided to others, have often meant the difference between success and failure. My passion lies in coaching those who are driving the daily life of schools — division directors, assistant heads, deans, department chairs — the people at the center of everything. These middle leaders are the backbone of a school, and they deserve thoughtful, strategic, and personalized coaching to help them make sense of the complexity around them and lead with confidence.
I believe in collaboration, candor, and practical tools that move leaders forward. I help school leaders think strategically, communicate clearly, and make decisions that align with their values and school missions— all while keeping kids and teachers at the heart of the work.
When I’m not coaching, you can find me chasing my own version of balance — snowboarding and camping in the mountains with my family and friends, biking the Idaho hills, supporting my oldest daughter as a ballet dad, or on the soccer field with my youngest daughter coaching her team. I also make time for what keeps me grounded: meditation, yoga, and the occasional 5 a.m. boot camp.
At ElevatED, I bring my full experience, energy, and insight to support the leaders who make independent schools so incredible — so they can keep showing up for their communities and living into their true, authentic selves.
